Telling human-interest stories from a human rights perspective
One of the rapidly expanding youth-led organizations in Eastern and Southern Africa, Media for Development and Advocacy, has made it a priority to use art and media as a means of contributing to address social problems.
We believe in unequivocal equality: before the law, in opportunity, and in the eyes of the community.
We have made it a core mission to leverage art and media as powerful tools for addressing social issues
The “citizen-centric” principle guides our work, ensuring that our initiatives prioritise the needs and perspectives of the communities we serve.
Our work holds immense potential to impact people as it reflects real-life events and concerns
The Drive
Emerging from the creative fusion of a filmmaker and a vocalist, Media for Development and Advocacy (MEDEA Tanzania) is a youth-driven non-governmental organisation; our core mission revolves around harnessing the potential of media, particularly art and films, to champion justice. Since our inception, MEDEA Tanzania has generated a plethora of artistic endeavours and media initiatives dedicated to advocating for the rights of girls, women, and youths in their diversity, emphasising their right to sexuality, education, expression and participation.
